Abstract
The theatrical receptions to authority in the colonial context allow us to access itself image that the natives of a place offer to visitor. The author Cairasco de Figueroa, from the Canary Islands, wrote four receptions to bishops who occupied the see in the Canary Islands between 1576 and 1597. Only the first two receptions dedicated to the bishops Cristóbal de Vela and Fernando de Rueda are preserved. This work has as its main objective the study of the natural elements in the insular space present in the manuscript 9/746 in Spanish Academy of History based on the comparison of its staging with the other reception.
