Radiocarbono y neolitización en Iberia

Abstract

Radiocarbon and Neolithisation in the Iberian Peninsula. In this work we have carried out a compilation of radiocarbondates availables for the entire Iberian Peninsula with the goal to built temporal maps about the neolitisation process. We havecalculated the calibrated radiocarbon dating densities and we have represented them spacially in order to show the populationdynamics of last hunter-gatherers and first farmers. We assume that the ensemble of radiocarbon dates constitutes a randomsample to investigate population dynamics. Some authors point out several problems linked with the variability of samples asthe visibility of the sites, the degree of regional research, the type of material dated, or the archaeological context. Neverthelessthe increasing number of available samples and the improvement in the results allow to consider the interest of this kind ofanalysis, in this case focused on to investigate the neolithisation process.
