Zusammenfassung

The legitimacy of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights has been questioned both by the doctrine and by some States subject to its jurisdiction. Within the broader debate on the legitimacy of courts and international law, responses to such criticisms are sought from this legal system, to the extent that the Court is a court part of it, and within the basis of the legal obligation of international law, addressing both the best philo-sophical proposals as to the reality of current international law.
