Zusammenfassung

The incidence of evictions of tenants in Los Llanos, a newly centralized sector of the city of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, between 2008 and 2015 is analyzed. The recent expulsion of residents seems to indicate the reactivation of gentrification that gave rise to the current neighborhood configuration. Unlike the gentrification experienced by the neighborhood in the central decades of the 20th century and which affected the working classes, as of 2008 it si the new middle-class residents who are expelled. The analysis is based on the launches (due to non-payment of the mortgage or rent) registered in the Atlante database of the General Council of the Judicial Power (CGPJ).
