The present text tries to explain the constant association between the Rule of osha, a religion of Afro-Cuban origin, and the different spiritual and eso- teric manifestations not considered as religion but as magical-ritual practices, as well as their link with criminal practices in the Canary Islands. The practice of this religion faces moral. legal, environmental, material, aesthetic and symbolic confticts in order to develop its rituals and manifest its beliefs. This religion is es- tablished and spread throughout the archipelago in a constant search for solutions, which allow it to be a religious conununity with full rights, in a diverse and plural society su eh as the Canary Islands of the 21st century.
