Abstract

Sports tourism is defined as such in the first typologies seventies of s. XX and now comprises growing number touristic products. Such is its importance has become part of the development strategy and / or renewal of multiple destinations. It is checked that business and academic knowledge of the multimotivations and the evocation of feelings is one of the hot spots of the market research, ever-changing and increasingly demanding with the offer. For its realization in the analysis and determination of the relative importance to a destination, a case study about the event "Maratón del Meridiano 2014" is raised on the island of El Hierro (Canary Islands). This study has served as prospective in order to obtain information on the possibility of conducting comparative research in greater depth.
