Resum
A study is presented on how secondary students evaluate solutions to numerical tasks observing ifthey are or not reasonable. To do this, a qualitative analysis with eight students was carried out intwo interviews, before and after a classroom instruction, in which a sequence of activities wasimplemented that encouraged the use of strategies to assess the reasonableness of numericalresponses. The strategies worked in the classroom instruction were: numerical estimation, graphicestimation and adaptation to the context. In the interviews it is concluded that the students showedarguments to evaluate the answers before the classroom instruction, although some studentsimproved and expanded their strategies after the instruction towards other more effective ones.
