Abstract

With the aim of situating the Canary Islands in the transnational context of the field of religious studies, the Religions and Multiculturalism area has delved into debates on new spiritualities and the shaping of local identities, as well as approaches and reflections on religious experiences, healing, popular medicine and ethnomusicology. It also made progress in a line centred on analysing, making visible and delving deeper into the spiritual and religious quests born of the migratory movements that have taken place between the Canary Islands, Africa and America. A space to investigate the role of religious identities, globalisation, traditions, itineraries and conversions in the various conflicts linked to religious practices in public spaces.
