Resumo
This paper reports a research on how prospective teachers classify additive problems on negative numbers. The different structures of problems correspond to those of Change, Combination, Comparison and Two Changes. The results show that most of prospective teachers look for key elements to help them in the classification. In some cases these key elements are not suitable at all, and therefore leads to errors in classification. We have also observed how contextual and linguistic features condition final classification.
