PhD in Psychology with European mention from the University of La Laguna (ULL) (2010, Neuropsychology Program). Bachelor's Degree in Psychology (2003, ULL) and Master's degree in Clinical Neuropsychology from the University of Santiago de Compostela. I completed my postdoctoral training as part of the NEUROCOG Structural Project and joined the Department of Psychobiology and Methodology of the Behavioral Sciences as an interim professor in 2012. After a family relocation to Chile in 2013, I joined the Faculty of Education at the Diego Portales University as an associate professor in the fields of Developmental Psychology, Learning, and Neuroscience. From 2014 to 2017, I held the position of academic coordinator, carrying out projects for institutional development in the area of Initial Teacher Education. My research work covers neuropsychological assessment, executive functioning, cognitive aging, and decision-making in medical settings. My latest funded projects focused on the role of Executive Functioning and Social Cognition in the teaching competencies of higher education professors (Fondecyt Iniciación 2016 and International Cooperation Networks 2018, ANID Chile). In 2023, I returned to the ULL as a Lecturer in Psychobiology with great curiosity for ways to debunk common misconceptions about the brain in psychological and pedagogical education, improving interprofessional communication in the field of neuropsychology and bring new ideas and approaches to teaching psychobiology.
