Doctor by the Universidad de La Laguna with the thesis Afectación cognitiva en distintos estadios de la enfermedad de Parkinson y su relación con variables clínicas y parámetros de atrofia en resonancia magnética 2010. Supervised by Dr. María Antonieta Nieto Barco, Dr. José Barroso Ribal.

I obtained a Degree in Psychology in 2003 at University of La Laguna (Spain) and I have a Master in Clinical Neuropsychology (2007) from the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain). I obtained my PhD in Neuropsychology (2010) at University of La Laguna (Spain). I have been working at University of La Laguna since 2013. Currently I am an Assistant Professor at the Department of Clinical Psychology, Psychobiology and Methodology. I am leading several lines of research and I supervise several students including PhD, Master and Undergraduate students. Moreover, I am the academic secretary of the Faculty of Psychology since 2019. My main research interest is the study of neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s disease (PD). My project is focused on identifying predictors of cognitive impairment and dementia development in PD patients. Currently, my main focus is in the clinical value of Subjective Cognitive Decline in PD patients and its relationship with objective cognitive impairment, neuroimaging, clinical and socio-demographic factors. I have several publications in scientific journal and book chapters in international prestigious editorials. Moreover, I have been working as a reviewer for different journals including Parkinsonism & Related Disorders and Journal of the International Neuropsychological Society, among others.
