María A. Gabino Campos is a Permanent Lecturer in the field of Audiovisual Communication and Advertising at the University of La Laguna. She holds a PhD in Communication (Advertising and Public Relations) from the University of Málaga (2018) and a PhD in Information Sciences (Journalism) from the University of La Laguna (2003). She is a researcher in organisational communication, specialising in the analysis of meaning-making processes, institutional image, and legitimacy in public institutions and complex organisations, with particular attention to strategic communication, institutional reputation, and governance. Her work incorporates discursive and cultural approaches, as well as the study of interactive communication and the impact of digitalisation, artificial intelligence, and data use on organisational communication processes. In recent years, she has participated in international research projects on institutional image and communication management in public organisations, including Image and Perception of the Mexico Country Brand in Spain (2017–2019) and the R&D project Communication Management and Innovation in Organisations, developed within the healthcare sector in Mexico.
