Resumo
This work introduces a novel encapsulation method at low temperature using commercial ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) sheets, in order to protect perovskite layers from humidity and UV radiation. MAPbI3 thin films were deposited on glass substrates using spin coating techniques. From the deposited films, a first set was encapsulated, while a second set remained without encapsulation for reference. Both sets were exposed to solar radiation, at relative humidity (RH) from 60 to 80%, and during different periods of time. The degradation processes were characterized by microscope imaging and optical ellipsometry. The results indicate that the EVA encapsulated samples, in comparison with the non-encapsulated ones, remained stable above 350 hours under solar radiation. In addition, the analysis of the absorption coefficient reveals that the characteristic bands, located at 360 nm and 500 nm, can be associated with the decomposition of the MAPbI3 layer under UV radiation.
