Doctor by the Universidad de La Laguna with the thesis Sustainable methodologies for the determination of organic contaminants in agri-food and environmental samples 2024. Supervised by Dr. Miguel Ángel Rodríguez Delgado, Dr. Bárbara Socas Rodríguez.
Ruth Rodríguez Ramos holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of La Laguna (ULL), where she also completed her BSc in Chemistry (2017) and her MSc in Chemistry (2018). Her research career has been developed within the Applied Chemical Analysis for Industry, Environment and Agrifood (AQAIMPA) research group at ULL. Her doctoral thesis, supervised by Dr. Miguel Ángel Rodríguez Delgado and Dr. Bárbara Socas Rodríguez, focused on the development of sustainable analytical methodologies for determining organic pollutants in agri-food and environmental samples. During this period, she participated as a researcher in the European project PERVEMAC II (2018–2019) and was awarded a Predoctoral Research Fellowship (FPI) by the Government of the Canary Islands. Additionally, she conducted a research stay at the USDA Agricultural Research Service – Eastern Regional Research Center (USA) under the supervision of Dr. Steve J. Lehotay, funded by the IMFAHE Foundation and the host institution. Following her PhD defense in April 2024, she continued her scientific activity through a postdoctoral orientation period and as a researcher in the national project ALOECAN. Currently, Ruth is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow under the "Catalina Ruiz" program at ULL (2025 call). She is now conducting a research stay at the Mountain Research Center (CIMO)—a European reference centre for sustainable agriculture affiliated with the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (Portugal), under the supervision of Dr. Miguel Ángel Rodríguez Delgado (ULL) and Dr. Maria Inês Dias (CIMO).
