Amador Morera

His research has focused mainly on three areas: microeconomic models of time allocation, econometric models of discrete choice and economic valuation of non-market goods. In 2006 he received the Extraordinary Doctorate Award in Social Sciences from the University of La Laguna. Subsequently, he has deepened his knowledge and application of stated preference techniques, collaborating in the development of discrete choice experiments aimed at revealing the preferences of users of transportation systems, electricity consumers and visitors to national parks, obtaining in his studies estimates of the monetary value of travel time savings, the value of statistical life and the monetary value of the use of renewable sources in electricity generation. He is the author of a dozen publications, including several publications in high impact journals in the areas of Economics and Transportation such as Energy Economics, Transportation or Transport Policy. His current research focuses on the cost-benefit analysis of the Spanish high-speed rail network and the economic valuation of ecosystem services from discrete choice experiments of stated preferences. He has participated as a member of the research team in several regional and national projects, and has been principal investigator at the University of La Laguna of the innovation project-AEI for Operational Groups PNDR-2019 called Sustainable Public Food 4.0 "Improving skills of organic fruit and vegetable producers of proximity to promote the transition to sustainability of public canteens in Madrid, Valencia, Canary Islands". Member of the Productivity, Transport and Energy Economics Research Group, he has also been deputy director of the Chair of Environment and Sustainable Development Cabildo de Tenerife - University of La Laguna in 2019. He has been coordinator of several educational innovation projects related to the Service-Learning methodology. He has also been co-chair of the X National and IV International Congress of University Service-Learning in 2021 and promoter of the Canary Islands Declaration on Service-Learning in Higher Education that was promoted that year. Since 2019 he has been a Professor of the Expert in University Teaching (EDU-ULL), as well as of the ULL Teacher Training Program, where he teaches a module on Service-Learning. In the academic year 2021-22 she promoted the creation and assumed the direction of the Service-Learning Program of the University of La Laguna (ApS-ULL), organizing in June 2022 the I Jornadas de ApS de Tenerife. He has been Director of the Secretariat of University Social Responsibility between 2015 and 2019, member of the University Sustainability Evaluation Group (GESU) of the CRUE in those years and academic director of ULL-Debates, a program of activities dedicated to analyze the challenges posed by sustainable development with the participation of academics, experts, people with responsibility for decision making and representatives of social entities and citizenship in general. He has also been academic director of several university fairs and conferences on volunteering and service-learning and responsible for the ULL-Solidaria university volunteering program.
